An Orthotic is a device that is contoured to the entire foot and used to reduce abnormal motion or abnormal position of the foot. They can provide stability for the foot and correct injury-causing imbalances. This may result in a dramatic improvement in foot symptoms and efficiency. There can be pre made Orthotics which are a generic pre-fabricated device. The can be modified to fit improve fit to each person. However a custom device is custom milled to the persons foot. A 3D scan is taken of the patients foot and a unique prescription is made for each individual patient.
