An Orthotic is a device that is contoured to the entire foot and used to reduce abnormal motion or abnormal position of the foot. They can provide stability for the foot and correct injury-causing imbalances. This may result in a dramatic improvement in foot symptoms and efficiency. There can be premade Orthotics which are a generic pre-fabricated device. They can be modified to fit improve fit to each person. However, a custom device is individually modelled to the patient's foot. A 3D scan is taken of the patient's foot, and a unique prescription is made for each individual patient. Once designed around the patient's foot and our prescription the orthotic is then CNC milled or 3d printed into a custom made orthotic.
